Class Description:

Create a peaceful winter scene using just one color…Prussian Blue.  This will be a study in values with a few special techniques to enhance your painting.  Strategies for getting depth and detail, stonework that isn’t flat, some negative painting and a different use for salt will be addressed.

Meet The Instructor:

I was born in California, attended college in Iowa earning a degree in secondary education.  We became an Air Force family, which meant not only travel, but it meant I connected with a variety of jobs all involving teaching, training and creativity.  My creative skills began with woodcarving, but I always wanted to try my hand at watercolor.  I started taking classes with artists Bev Joswiak, Vickie Nelson, Gene Drake, Bridget Austin and many others.

I love watercolor and I am still captivated with all the different effects and moods that come from my brush.  I have taught many classes and continue to enjoy sharing my skills with others.  I’ve been shown in many galleries successfully, been commissioned to paint pets and subjects, and competed in Wisconsin WRAP events.

Supplies Needed:

Bring any size watercolor paper you like to work with (10x14, 11x14 or 12x16) 140# cold press. Sharp pointed brushes, a large wash brush, transfer paper, Prussian Blue paint and masking fluid (just a little).  Don’t forget your water container, apron and towels.

Cancellations & Refunds:

  • No refunds will be issued for no shows.

  • No refunds will be issued for dropping the workshop during presentation.

  • No refunds for cancellations one week prior to class.

  • Approved cancellations will incur a $10 processing fee.

  • The Zoom recorded class will be available to all students who have paid for the class for 30 days following the workshop.

  • If the Workshop is cancelled due to the Instructor, or GLAF, a full refund with no cancellation fee will be issued.
