Class Description:

Create a luminous fused-glass birch filled forest with soft light, layered atmosphere, and dimensional texture.  Students will design their own peaceful woodland scene using pre-cut birch trees, hand painted details, delicate branches and richly layered foliage.

To allow more time for creativity and detail work during class, each student will begin with a pre-fired atmospheric glass panel custom prepared by the instructor, creating the glowing light and depth that make these pieces so striking.

Each piece will be a one-of-a-kind woodland panel displayed in a handcrafted reclaimed-wood stand.  Approximate finished size:  6”wide x 10” tall, plus stand.

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR:

Tonya Schade is a fused glass artist and instructor based in Northern Illinois. She taught for over three years at The Glass Garden in Janesville, where she served as Creative Director. Tonya teaches glass and mosaic classes, where she is known for guiding students through the entire creative process while building confidence and discovering their own creative voice. She ensures projects are completed safely and successfully. Her classes are engaging and well-structured, creating a supportive environment where both beginners and experienced artists can thrive.

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

All supplies, firing and stand are included.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS:

• No refunds will be issued for no shows.

• No refunds will be issued for any dropped students once the class/session has begun.

• Cancellations prior to the first date of class, a $10 cancellation fee will be deducted from the refund.

• Cancellations due to personal emergency, funds may be applied to a different class within an identified time-frame as approved by the class instructor.

• Class cancellation due to the Instructor of GLAF, or GLAF, a full refund with no cancellation fee will be issued.

• If a class needs to be made up, due to weather, etc., the Instructor may add a make-up day to the schedule.
