Class Description:
Wool clothes make us feel cozy and warm on chilly winter days. Wool can also make us feel cozy and warm when it is lit from within and glowing in a window on a winter’s night.
In this class you will learn the basics of wet felting over a simple resist and how to wet felt a vessel that looks like a snowball illuminated from inside with a warm glow.
The end result will be a beautiful 3D orb filled with faerie lights. Just in time for the holiday and winter months.
No previous experience required. Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit wet.
Meet The Instructor:
Teaching fiber arts has been a joyous part of my life for more than 10 years. I’ve taught at an array of venues including the annual Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival and Lost Art Fiber and Textile Studio. I was introduced to wet and needle felting while I taught at the Racine Dominican Eco-Justice Center. Felting and fiber arts have become a passionate pursuit. I love guiding people through the process of using a wide array of primarily natural fibers to create wonderfully varied and texturally compelling pieces. Most recently, I have begun dabbling in small scale weaving.
