Class Description:
Silk paper is very easy to make and cuts into any shape you want so it makes a good embellishment in wet felting. Students will use various types of silk combined with water and heat to produce silk paper. The silk paper will be embellished with color, fibers, and photo transfers. This will then be fashioned into an accordion-folded book. No previous experience required.
Meet The Instructor:

Teaching fiber arts has been a joyous part of my life for more than 10 years. I’ve taught at an array of venues including the annual Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival and Lost Art Fiber and Textile Studio. I was introduced to wet and needle felting while I taught at the Racine Dominican Eco-Justice Center. Felting and fiber arts have become a passionate pursuit. I love guiding people through the process of using a wide array of primarily natural fibers to create wonderfully varied and texturally compelling pieces. Most recently, I have begun dabbling in small scale weaving.
Supplies Needed:
Most materials and equipment will be provided. Students may bring in 3x5 images for the photo transfer, if desired. IMAGES MUST be printed from an inkjet printer. Students please bring a thick ironing pad or small ironing board. Several thicknesses of towels will work equally well.
Cancellations & Refunds:
No refunds will be issued for no shows.
No refunds will be issued for any dropped students during the class/session.
Cancellations prior to the first date of class or classes will incur a $10 cancellation fee deducted from the refund.
