Barbara Condon Marrs specializes in narrative portraits of children and young adults. Every painting invites the viewer through setting and imagery to imagine a story about the subject. The style is close to graphic which is a colorful departure from many contemporary portrait treatments.
Another subject of interest for the artist is domestic architecture, particularly Irish cottages. In the Chicago area, Barbara has studied painting with Royell Ho at Evanston Art Center, and Thomas Trausch in Woodstock. Current work is exclusively oil on canvas.
