Taylor is a Wisconsin artist and gardener whose watercolors are inspired by the wildlife and plant life relationships all around us. Her work plays botanical detail against abstract shape and pattern and is ever evolving.
She received her BA from UW-Stevens Point and for years afterward, felt creatively stifled and unsure. It wasn’t until she relocated to Austin, Texas and finally connected with the earth by way of organic gardening that she found her voice as an artist. Up close observation of plants and their pollinators led her to work for a local plant nursery, which in turn helped cultivate her interest in botanical art.
Taylor now lives and works in Walworth, Wisconsin and in addition to portraits of flora + fauna, she experiments with dip pens and ink, abstract landscapes, and digital illustration.
