Ken received his art education at Millikin University, the University of Illinois, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He taught K–12 art in Illinois for ten years before becoming Coordinator of the Art Program for the Title III ESEA Project in East Central Illinois.
After moving to Wisconsin, Ken served for 25 years as Coordinator of Art and Staff Development for the West Allis–West Milwaukee School District. During that time, he co-founded the West Allis Art Alliance, which established an art gallery in West Allis City Hall.
Ken served as President of the Wisconsin Art Education Association and was honored as the National Art Education Association Western Division Art Supervisor of the Year in 1986. He has also served as chairman of the National Scholastic High School Art Exhibition and held leadership roles with the Wisconsin Alliance for Arts Education, the Milwaukee Area Teachers of Art, the Milwaukee Children's Art Council, and the Special Arts Festival.
His artwork has been exhibited at the West Allis Art Alliance Gallery, the Milwaukee Art Museum, Carroll College, the Geneva Lake Arts Foundation (Gallery 223), the Aislinge Gallery, and the Roicettera Gallery. He has also exhibited alongside renowned Wisconsin artist Aaron Bohrod. Ken is an active member of the Oil Painters of America.
Ken's paintings and sculptures reflect the beauty and character he finds in both the natural and built environments, as well as in living forms. Through his work, he hopes viewers will discover a fresh appreciation for familiar subjects and see them in a more meaningful way.
