Margaret Burlingham

When my first Thoroughbred race horse walked briskly to the race track to train, I found myself running with my camera, trying to keep up. My interest in photography was born. Horse racing and life on our Wisconsin crop farm can be mystery to many people and I want to bring the viewer into the barn, the track, the fields, and nature. I exhibit photography and collage work regularly at Gallery 223 in Lake Geneva and venues around southeastern Wisconsin. As a race track photographer for Coady Photography I have photographed the Kentucky Derby, the Arlington Million, and the Breeder’s Cup Championships; and been published in Blood-Horse, The Horse magazine, Florida Horse, and Our Wisconsin Magazine. I’m a volunteer photographer for CANTER-Chicago and Galloping Out, non-profits that help find new homes and careers for retiring Thoroughbred race horses that raced in Chicago.
